The entrance to the Pitt Rivers Museum is through the Oxford University Museum Natural History (OUMNH) on Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PW. The Pitt Rivers' entrance is at the far wall of the OUMNH. Visitors need to walk across the ground floor to reach it. Please note that access to some evening events is via the Museum’s South Entrance in Robinson Close, off South Parks Road.
The Museum unfortunately cannot offer parking facilities. Vehicles parking in the University's Science Area without a permit are liable to be wheel-clamped. We suggest that you look for parking on side streets around the Museum. There are also five Park and Ride car parks (situated on the A40 at Headington; Redbridge, Abingdon Road, near Kennington; Pear Tree Roundabout, Woodstock Road; Water Eaton, Banbury Road, Kidlington and Seacourt at Botley). The coach park is on Oxpens Road.
Access for disabled visitors
To help make the most of your visit to the Pitt Rivers, please download the access information booklet for visitors with disabilities.
There is a platform lift at the main entrance from the OUMNH for wheelchair and pushchair users. There is also level access into the Museum via the South door on Robinson Close (directions in location section above). A disabled parking space (close to this entrance) can be booked in advance on a first come first served basis. Tel. 01865 270927.
Other facilities include: A lift to all floors, a hearing loop (at reception, in the shop and in the lecture theatre) and adapted toilet and baby change facility.

Baby care Breastfeeding is welcome in the Museum. Baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor.
Toilets There are accessible toilets on the ground floor.
Bags and Buggies Buggies are welcome in the Museum. All floors are accessible by lift. There are no cloakroom facilities in the Museum.
Food and Drink Do feel free to picnic on the lawn outside, but please don't eat in the museum. There are no cafe facilities in the Museum.
Shop The Museum shop sells a diverse selection of books and gifts, many at pocket-money prices.
