Mark Dickerson

Job summary

Mark is responsible for management of the Museum's Balfour Library, including acquisitions, cataloguing, circulation management and strategic planning. He supports museum staff, academics, researchers and students, including those from the University's School of Anthropology and School of Archaeology. Mark is also Archives Officer, having day to day responsibility for the Museum's extensive manuscript collections, and facilitating research access. Mark also administrates photographic services for the collections departments of the museum.

CV

Mark received a BA in Theology from Trinity College, Oxford, and completed a PG Diploma in Information Management (Librarianship) at Thames Valley University while working at the Bodleian Library. He joined the Pitt Rivers Museum in 1997, and has managed the retrospective conversion and automation of the Balfour Library’s loan collections onto the University's integrated Oxford Libraries Information System.

Mark has project managed two relocations of the library and one internal move to its current location.
