Every Saturday 11.00 - 13.00 Free family friendly object handling in the Pitt Rivers. Discover more about wonderful and fascinating objects from the museum’s collection. 

Museum Family Backpacks

Available from the info point 10.00 - 16.30 every Saturday. Borrow a backpack full of activities and become a family of museum explorers.

Programme of Other Family Friendly Events

Fun ways to explore the museum and discover more about our exciting collections. Make something super to take home. FREE drop-in activities for children aged 5+ and special activities designed for under 5s. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

First Saturday of every month (except 2 July) and in school holidays 
13.00 - 16.00 

Saturday 1 October, 13.00 - 16.00

From fish to feathers, come along to the Museum to find out more about what people wear on their heads. Design your own special hat to take home with you.

Friday 14 October, 10.30 - 12.00

A fun and hands-on session for walkers to 5 years. Come along and see some of our amazing objects and make something to take home with you.

Monday 24 - Wednesday 26 October, 13.00 - 16.00

Explore the Museums through the eyes of people and animals. What will you see? Exciting activities all about vision, photography and the eyeball!

Saturday 5 November, 13.00 - 16.00

Celebrate Diwali, the festival of light, with us and make a lamp to take home with you.
