The Pitt Rivers Museum is a welcoming museum for all and we are seeking an exceptional Events Manager to manage the running of our events at one of Oxford's most loved museums. We warmly invite all applicants who feel they meet the requirements for the role to apply.

The Pitt Rivers Museum is a unique venue for events and currently offers five different meeting spaces, with capacity for up to 180 guests for receptions, private dining, lectures, classroom and boardroom functions. Filming is a small but important growth area.

In this new and exciting role for the Museum, the Events Manager will develop this growing business area and will aim to maximise the potential of the Museum as a unique venue in Oxford. The role will manage and deliver all internal and external events with a focus on increasing external and digital events in addition to supporting our growing public engagement events, exhibition launches and museum workshops and conferences. Types of events held include private dining, receptions and social events, corporate hire, filming, workshops, lectures, conferences and events for other University departments.

The Events Manager will be responsible for managing events from enquiry stage to the day of the event, ensuring that sales targets are met and endeavouring to exceed them.

The Events Manager will need to be self-motivated to proactively secure, schedule and plan all events within the Museum. They will liaise closely with all museum staff and in particularly, staff working in visitor services, public engagement and in delivering exhibitions. When delivering the events, they will supervise other staff supporting the event. Excellent organisation, communication skills and experience of sales and events management are essential, as well as working with people and on own initiative.
