Hiring the Museum

The Pitt Rivers Museum is one of the world's great museums of anthropology and world archaeology, but it can also provide a unique venue for your event. Guests can relax, mingle and chat as they wander between cases displaying an almost overwhelming array of treasures from all corners of the world and all periods of human history.

The entrance to the Museum is via the Oxford University Museum of Natural History on Parks Road., so guests have the opportunity to walk through its magnificent architecture, past towering dinosaurs and beneath the impressive glass roof to reach the Pitt Rivers Museum. Our Special Exhibition area, with its changing displays, gives access to the main court of the Pitt Rivers Museum. Guests will be struck at once not only by the impact and richness of these internationally famous collections and by the distinctive Victorian atmosphere of the museum. These features combine to make the Pitt Rivers a unique setting for drinks receptions, private parties, and a host of other events.
