Every Saturday 11.00 - 13.00 Free family friendly object handling in the Pitt Rivers. Discover more about wonderful and fascinating objects from the museum’s collection. 

Museum Family Backpacks

Available from the info point 10.00 - 16.00 every Saturday. Borrow a backpack full of activities and become a family of museum explorers.

Programme of Other Family Friendly Events

Fun ways to explore the museum and discover more about our exciting collections. Make something super to take home. FREE drop-in activities for children aged 5+ and special activities designed for under 5s. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Tuesday 29 May & Wednesday 30 May, 13.00 - 16.00

What did intrepid women take on their journeys around the world? See the objects they packed in their luggage and create your own travel stories.

Thursday 31 May, 13.00 - 16.00

Look closely at the photographs taken by women around the world. Find out who they are and make your own photographic print.

Saturday 9 June, 12.00 - 16.00

Join Oxford Archaeologists to unearth amazing objects found in the ground. Look at archaeological objects in the collections and get to handle fascinating finds.

Saturday 23 June, 10.00 - 16.00

As part of our annual Pitt Fest, drop in and find out what researchers do and get hands-on with a range of family-friendly activities.

Sunday 1 July, 10.00 - 17.00

Join us at this year's Cowley Road Carnival for fun with object handling and crafts.

Saturday 21 July, 14.00 - 15.30

Come and listen to Indian tablas and have a go yourself. Free drop-in session suitable for adults and families.
